Minutes of Der Sitzmark Ski Club Meeting – July 21, 2020

The “social folks” enjoyed dinner and also the ski club meeting at Middle Road Inn.  The terrace was fully occupied so we gathered in the usual dining room.

Treasurer Ron Sarver reported as of 6/30/20 our total money is $3,494.96 – bottom line, we don’t owe.

Patty Ann McLauglhlin, Ski Trips Director reported on plans for the 2021 Beaver Creek trip.  This trip will include ski in/ski out, walk to town, share condos, etc.  Not on deck yet as we need at least 25 participants for that price. To date, fourteen people have signed up.

Jamaica Trip reported by Mary Ann Sarver:  Still hoping for a go; will keep club updated.  As noted previously, date has been changed to October 8th – 15th.

Make your reservation for our great Annual Picnic:  date is Sunday, August 23, 2020 at our usual spot, Grubbs Pavilion. Starts at 2:00 pm; dinner served at 4:00 pm.  Oh my, create your outrageous ice cream sundae ~ one or more scoops of ice cream topped with sauces and sprinkles, whipped cream ~ with a cherry on top ~ yum!

John Celender attended the meeting (He has been in and out of the hospital.) and with the biggest grin announced he plans to ski – maybe not the double blacks, but ski.  With much applause, we expressed our pleasure at seeing John.  Welcome back.

Vice President Dave Potts had Undercliff Fire Department’s car raffle tickets for sale. Drawing for the orange car will be on Halloween, based on the lottery.  It is a 2020 Subura Crosstrek 2.OL Premium.

Earlier this year Judy Neyer petitioned our ski club to make a donation to ALS and Der Sitzmark Ski Club received a thank you letter for supporting the Johnstown Walk to Defeat ALS  which  not only supports Walk with Lynne and Lynne Hartnett, but provides critical care to people living with ALS.  We hope that research will help Mr. Kapper.  This group has surpassed their fundraising goal by over 275%.

That’s about it.  Stay sane, and stay home and WASH THOSE HANDS!  Oh no!  We violated more than a few safety guidelines tonight.

                                                                                                     Libby Murphy, Secretary
