Report from Patty Ann McLaughlin – Breckinridge Trip

The Der Sitzmark Ski Club hit the slopes in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. The group stayed at Beaver Run Resort, a ski-in/ski-out location with plenty of amenities, convenient to the thriving town of Breckenridge, and just steps from the Beaver Run Superchair or a short slide down to the Quicksilver Superchair. The week was kicked off at a Welcome Reception with a presentation about Beaver Run Resort and a chance to relax with friends after a long day of travel. The weather was outstanding with blue skies and sunshine every day and temperatures improving daily. The velvety quality of the natural snow was outstanding! The resort offered a great selection of long groomed blue runs and skiers also found thrills on some favorable black diamond runs off Falcon Superchair. The slopes and terrain off Peak 6 seemed to attract many in the group and with views from the top at 12,300 ft. it was no wonder it was a popular spot. A few took advantage of a 300 ft. climb to the highest point in the ski resort to 12,998 ft. at Peak 7 with a thrilling descent! “Bluebird” days topped off the trip with temperatures into the 40’s and 50’s. The group enjoyed many Après ski activities and gathered at the hot tubs or outdoor fire pits, shopped in the village, cooked their favorite meals for their friends, or headed out to one of the many great restaurants in town. To experience Breckenridge is to experience a quintessential ski resort – welcoming, scenic, and full of adventure. Planning for 2023 is already underway as bookings are filling up fast!
