April’s Bocce Report and May’s Bocce Date

We had 26 members and friends playing bocce at the Bocce House in April.  Most joined us for lunch which was quite good and served quickly. Then after the confusion of who was to play where, everyone had a good time deciding which color threw next and which colored ball was the closest to the pallina.  Some used stepping off as a measuring stick while others ended up with tape measures for a more exact decision.  Sometimes measuring twice was needed.
Since we usually have only 8 players per court and we had an extra 2 folks it became confusing to start as to whom was to play where. So, at the next bocce gathering on May 15 we will sign up earlier, I will limit the list to 24 bowlers, and one of the staff will assign 2 teams to each of the courts so there will be no confusion when our 1: 00 pm starting time comes around. If we get more than 24 people I will be happy to put you on a waiting list. If we go over the 24 and there are enough players to sign on for another court I will check to be sure another court is available and let those others join us. They can always join us for lunch and perhaps we will have a no-show.
So, feel free to text , call, or phone me before May13th as soon as you decide you would like to play and are available for the May 15th game arriving early enough to eat if you plan to eat with us and before we begin to play at 1:00 pm.
