SKI NEWS      (Are your skis and boards ready?)

Council’s meeting was poorly attended. The new trip leader was not present so there was no report on the status of the Copper mountain trip apart from the fact that 17-18 skiers are going. There’s some questions about if the trip will go if they don’t have 20. They have to surrender rooms by the end of October.

The Whiteface trip has 59 going. 28 on the bus and 21 driving. Brian has 1 double left; the rest are all King rooms. There’s a wait list for this trip. Whiteface invested money into their snowmaking and hope to open earlier and close later.

A $1000 deposit has been placed with Mammoth for the 2028 season. I don’t recall this going for a vote at council.
Mike attended the Ski Federation meeting in July in Vegas but was not present to give a report.

There are 15 clubs in council. Annual dues of $35 are due.

The roof of the main lodge has been replaced at 7 Springs. The new towers are in place for the new Blitzen chair lift. Autumn fest is this weekend and next. Willi’s 7 S ski sale is on 10/10.
Mon Valley’s annual ski swap will be sometime in November.
