President Joe Hrason welcomed ski club members and started our meeting at 7:30 p.m. Joe mentioned that his leg is still aching, but he can ski (just not this year).
The annual Christmas Party is on Sunday, December 19th. The full course buffet-style dinner looks good. Wine and beer included.
Judy Neyer mentioned that the ski council report was in the previous newsletter. Judy can answer any inquiries.
We were sorry to learn of Chad King’s passing. Chad is the son of Annette King, one of our Der Sitzmark members. Chad is survived by his wife Alexis and their son Wells Our prayers are with Annette and her family. On November 15. Annette posted the following on Caring Bridge.
“Although I am so, so sad about Chad’s passing, I am grateful that he is released from his broken body
It is a blessing to our family that we have Wells, their son, in our lives now. Wells’ birthdate is March 29, 2021. Upon Wells’ birth Chad insisted that he and Alexis set up an education fund for Wells. Obviously, Well’s education is important to Chad.
Therefore, if you would like to remember Chad by supporting Wells in his future, you may contribute to Wells’ education.”

In the November 15 issue of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Larry Welsh wrote a very interesting article on “Snowsports Cost More This Season in Pittsburgh Region.”
Following are a few excerpts from the article, but you might want to check it out online before you head out to the local slopes.
“Hidden Valley bumped up the cost of its adult and junior (ages 6-11) Friday and Saturday lift tickets by a few bucks to $76 and $61, respectively. The Sunday rates are $75 and $60, respectively. Not much of a savings there.
At Seven Springs, adults will now pay $95 a day for Friday through Sunday adult lift tickets, and $98 a day during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The $98 holiday rate also will apply during Martin Luther King Jr. and Presidents’ Day weekends. Juniors (ages 6-11) cost $73 on weekends and $77 over the holidays. Remember when weekends didn’t start until Saturday?”
