Nova Scotia and Canada’s Maritimes – July 11, 2025

27 of our members had a break from the hot and humid days of July traveling through a beautiful part of Canada.  From Halifax we visited the graveyard where hundreds from the Titanic are buried and heard some fascinating stories.  We traveled along the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton National Park where the scenery of coastline and fishing villages is breathtaking.  Our guide sang songs in Gaelic, and I don’t remember what we drank that day for a toast, but it was delicious! Seeing how they catch lobsters and learning how to eat one and then enjoying our own was fun…watching Janet kiss a live lobster was lots of laughs, too!  Visiting the home and gardens that inspired Anne of Green Gables, the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, crossing the Bay of Fundy and eating Cow’s ice cream(voted Canada’s best) were among our many adventures.  Every trip has a few hiccups- a fire alarm that night at the hotel and a flight delay going home- but they just make travel more interesting.  It was a wonderful trip!
