Council had a Zoom meeting on Thursday.

We finally got a trip report from the western trip. 30 skiers went to Fernie and the trip had a profit of $1095.15. Still no report from Killington and the 2026 Killington trip is not on council’s website. The trip account balance is $19,702.11. This money will be used for deposits for the 2026 ski trips.

Elijah Hoffman received the $1000 Jim Kapp Scholarship.

Mike D. reported this from the National Ski Council Federation. Skier visits to ski areas in the 2024-25 season topped 61.5 million. 2nd best season on record. Park City local billionaire Matthew Prince of Cloudshare has purchased Town Lift Plaza and wants to buy Park City from Vail. He wants to connect Park City with Alta with a gondola. There is talk of a new ski train from Denver to Steamboat. The top 6 snowiest resorts last year: #6 Jay Peak Vermont 470” a real surprise! #4 tie Snowbird Utah and Timberline Oregon 520” #3 Alta Utah 537” #2 Mt.Baker Washington #585 #1 Alyeska Alaska #772” Mile filed a pre report to go to the Ski Federation meeting in August in Crested Butte Co. for a cost of $400 land and $200 air.
