WPSC had their yearly election of officers, and the officers are unchanged from last year and for three of them for as long as I can remember, prior to my being on council.
The trip account has been turned over to the new trip director, Bobbi, from the Westmoreland Ski Club.
Unfortunately, it looks like more of the same.
She is piggybacking council’s trip to Copper, February 27-March 6, onto Westmoreland’s trip to Winter Park the week before. The Copper trip will be run through Sports America.
Again, it’s an Ikon mountain. Most in our club that still ski have Epic passes.
Again, no air is included. Since the contracts haven’t been signed I don’t know the trip price or whether ground transportation will be included. I was very disappointed to hear this. The eastern trip will probably be Whiteface Mtn. Again, no cost or details.
As soon as these trips are posted I’ll get them to you.
There was talk of council running a fall foliage tour to White face as well as a rafting camping trip to the Grand Canyon in May 2027.
Both Bobbi and Brian attended the Mt. Travel Symposium on council’s dime. They recommend one trip leader per 20 participants.
Mike, previous trip leader, requested $300 from council to attend the annual Ski Council Federation meeting in Reno, Nevada. He was told to summit a pre report to council before approval.
3 Eastern ski areas are still open; Jay Peak and Killington are two of them.
Because of the recent snowfall in Colorado, Arapahoe Basin is staying open.
Hope to see you at the May meeting,Judy Neyer, WPSC Representative
